A. ANNOUNCEMENTS
1. The passing of Azhar Ariff aka Ja’a c96
It is with deep sadness to announce the passing of Azhar Ariff aka Ja’a c96, a JPM member and head of MCOBA’s IT & Communication Sub Committee on Friday, 24rd March 2017. May Allah blessed his soul and place him amongst the Righteous. Innalillah Hi waiina ilaihi rajiiun. Allahummarghfirlahu. Warhamhu waafihi waafuhanhu. ( Verily, unto God do we belong and, verily, unto Him we shall return). He was a good man, a great person , a dedicated and spirited MCOB. He will be missed by friends and family.
2. Kuliah Dhuha
A Kuliah Dhuha by YM Ustaz Engku Ahmad Fadzil (c86), Senior Fellow of IKSIM, Panel Member of Negeri Sembilan Fatwa Council as follows:

3.Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) on MCOBA-UEM Sunrise Bhd. Development Agreement (DA)
An EGM was held at the Penthouse, MCOBA Building on 25 March 2017 at 2pm. During the EGM , the key terms and mechanism of the Development Agree (DA ) were shared and the approval to proceed was voted on. The resolution was carried through by an overwhelming majority. Thank you for those who attended the EGM and let’s move on to the next phase of the Redevelopment of our Jalan Syed Putra land.
We appreciate your support to make this a success for the future of our beloved Association.
4. The Annual General Meeting ( AGM) of MCOBA
An Annual General Meeting ( AGM) of MCOBA will be held on Saturday , 15th April 2017 at the AudiTAR, the Malay College Kuala Kangsar which is during the Old Boys Weekend. Amongst others , we shall be tabling the Annual Reports, The Audited Accounts and passing 2 resolutions to appoint 2 Life Presidents of MCOBA.
The official notice for the AGM on 25 March 2017 and the notice has been sent via email to you , according to the email and snail mail addressed we have in the Secretariat’s records. 5. Membership Drive
The JPM has resolved the use of an incoming member’s life membership fees (during this year 2017) may be requested by the incoming member to support expense of a sports activity of MCOBA, e.g., Alumni Football, Basketball, MCOBA Vets or other interests carried out under the auspices of or supported by MCOBA. We look forward to non-member MCOBs to take this opportunity to register for life membership and support the sporting activities of MCOBs.
6. The Old Boys Weekend ( OBW) 2017
It’s that time of the year when we all track back ‘home’ to Kuala Kangsar in droves to gather, reminisce, recount and re-enact, possibly, our days in our beloved alma mater. Stories re-told umpteen times yet evoking the same laughter, joy and happiness of the times shared with our brother batch-mates, seniors and juniors.
Let’s all gather at MCKK ( where else?) come April 14th to 16th 2017, let’s try out if we still have the skills in games we may not have played for a long time, let’s see if our voices are still good enough to belt out those songs that we used to sing. There will be enough opportunities this year to stretch your vocal chords to reach those notes….we are planning for an Al- Fresno Dinner, supper in the open, clear night air of Kualer and even a karaoke to make the late evenings merry. There will be food trucks, a lucky draw and there’ll be a carnival like atmosphere in sync with this year’s theme:- “Bringing back the fun.!” Let’s make it into an enjoyable and fruitful weekend. Better yet, let’s make into a weekend where the fun never ends.

7. Bungwak Run 2017
The Bungwak Run is back! Organised by the Class of ‘97, the Bungwak Run will be held on 16 April 2017 (Sunday), 7am at the MCKK Big Field. Register at www.bungwakrun.com
8. MCOBA Bowling Tournament 2017
MCOBA Melaka is organising the MCOBA Bowling tournament on 13 May 2017 (Saturday), MIBC, Ayer Keroh, Melaka. Registration Fee is RM120 per person/RM240 per team for MCOBA members, RM60 per person for spouse, RM30 for daughters & sons. For more info or to register, contact Bro. B. WEEKLY MCOBA SPORTS RESULTS
1. Alumni National Cup 2017- Football
We are the Champions! The MCOBA Football Team won the championship of the Alumni National Cup 2017 by beating Ansara Jasin , Malacca 3-1 ( on penalty) full time score tied 1-1 Scorer : Gori c13 at the TSI Sports Arena, Cyberjaya on Sunday, 2nd April 2017. Well done to all!
The boys created history again for MCOBA & Perak, the champion of Alumni National Cup 2017, after the frustrating shootout against VIOBA (KL) last edition. These 3 remarkable seasons have been wonderful journey for the young MCOBs (across batches down to c16) to conquer all 4 Alumni titles – Alumni League, Alumni Cup, Ansara Cup and Alumni National Cup. Thank you for all the commitments, support and prayers from the team members, players, supporters, sponsors and MCOBs throughout the seasons.
