A. ANNOUNCEMENTS
1. We are the Alumni League Champions!
MCOBA won 2-1 against STAROBA. This sweet victory was courtesy of goals scored by Dhob and Dekwan c07.
After two consecutive years of being second best in the league, MCOBA won the match against STAROBA in the Final game of Alumni League, collecting 19 points in 7 games; 5 points clear on top of the league, undefeated this season and crowned as the Champion of Liga Alumni for the first time since the tournament was first introduced. This season, we’ve won the Alumni League Championship and played in the Ansara Cup and Alumni Cup Finals.
The Piala Kebangsaan Final is coming up next month, and we hope for another win to complete the title sweep. Please contact Raja Azraff (60 19 214 0724, [email protected]) if you would like to help the team financially. The team is looking forward to your support.
Thank you to the players for their commitment and fighting spirit throughout the season, and our appreciation to the supporters who gave their support and prayers. Bungwak!

2. Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) on MCOBA-UEM Sunrise Bhd. Development Agreement (DA)
An EGM will be held at the Penthouse, MCOBA Building on 25 March 2017 at 2pm. The EGM will share the key terms and mechanism of the DA, and we will be seeking your approval to proceed. In the meantime, a copy of the DA can be viewed at the MCOBA Secretariat, Penthouse, MCOBA Building.
Please note that among the Condition Precedents (CPs) for this project is the approval of MCOBA members in a general meeting to be convened as above. To address any confusion which may arise, it is reiterated that MCOBA’s execution of the DA on 21 Feb. 2017 DOES NOT make it effective until the CPs, which includes approval by members of MCOBA in the EGM are met.
Visuals and other information panels will be put up at the MCOBA Penthouse from 12pm on the EGM day. Members of the Development Committee will also be available to answer any concerns that you may have.
We seek your support to make this a success for the future of our beloved Association.
3. EGM Notice and Circular
The official notice for the EGM on 25 March 2017 and the Circular has been sent via email to you on 10 March 2017, according to the email address we have in the Secretariat’s records.
If you are a MCOBA member and did not receive the EGM Notice and Circular, please email [email protected] with your name and IC number.

4. Membership Drive
The JPM has resolved that use of an incoming member’s life membership fees (during this year 2017) may be requested by the incoming member to support expense of a sports activity of MCOBA, e.g., Alumni Football, Basketball, MCOBA Vets or other interests carried out under the auspices of or supported by MCOBA. We look forward to non-member MCOBs to take this opportunity to register for life membership and support the sporting activities of MCOBs.
5. MCOBA Squash Games (pre-OBW)
MCOBA Squash Club is organising a game to prepare for the OBW on 25 Mar. 2017 (Saturday), 9 am onwards at Tropicana Golf & CC. Please contact Anif at 019-5227307 or Faiz at 019-2798574 to participate.
6. Old Boys Weekend 2017
The Old Boys Weekend will be held from 14-16 April 2017 at MCKK (where else?). There is the sports events versus the staff and Present Boys, Saturday night Dinner and Concert, and the Sunday morning Bungwak Run.
7. Bungwak Run 2017
The Bungwak Run is back! Organised by the Class of ‘97, the Bungwak Run will be held on 16 April 2017 (Sunday), 7am at the MCKK Big Field. Register at www.bungwakrun.com
8. MCOBA Bowling Tournament 2017
MCOBA Melaka is organising the MCOBA Bowling tournament on 13 May 2017 (Saturday), MIBC, Ayer Keroh, Melaka. Registration Fee is RM120 per person/RM240 per team for MCOBA members, RM60 per person for spouse, RM30 for daughters & sons. For more info or to register, contact Bro. 9. Social Mini Pitch Hockey Session
Mini pitch hockey session every Monday, 9pm at Kelab Aman, Kuala Lumpur. Pitch fee is on sharing-basis among attendees. Please contact Maroon C91 at 019 2189421 or Zuhair C06 at 017 5806130 for further details or to participate.
10. Touch Rugby Session
Touch Rugby session every Sunday morning, 9am at Universiti Malaya. Contact Aboy at 018 9883454, Ben at 012 206 7930 or Epit at 019 3388498 for inquiry and to participate.
B. LAST WEEK’S RESULTS
1. MCOBA Football (MCOBA Above 30)
The MCOB XTRAs won 5-4 against Sunday Cowboys. Goals were scored by Salman (3), MatJu and Ladoe.
2. MCOBA Veterans Football
Our MCOBA Veterans thrashed SenMuo 8-2. Goals were scored by Hairul Hafeedz Esa (3), Ihsan Mohamed 2 (inc. 1 penalty), Izan Sharin Ismail, Azli Abdullah, and one own goal by SenMuo.
Congratulations to the MCOBA Football team for winning the Alumni League and a big thank you to all our players who fought hard and for the supporters who came to cheer our boys. Bungwak!
